Independent and Collaborative Executive Leadership 
  • As director of on-campus recruitment for a top-10 university, planned, staffed and executed programming for up to 400 prospective students and families at a time.  
  • Balanced budget and ensured financial health of parish throughout tenure as rector (senior/solo pastor). Increased annual giving by over 15% in first year, and implemented capital improvement projects totaling over $250,000 without incurring debt.     
  • Led redevelopment of vestry (church board) at All Saints, employing consent agenda format, creating a working committee structure and reducing vestry size to more effectively meet leadership needs of small non-profit.  
  • At large urban and smaller suburban parishes, hired, trained and managed staff and volunteers to effectively support church programs, leaders and ministries; developed relationships with space use partners and networked with other organizations, including arts and recovery groups.  
  • ​Wrote grant application for award from LGBT Community Fund of The Chicago Community Trust, working with executive leadership; doubled program budget with full award.
Professional Communication
  • As rector (senior/solo pastor), responsible for weekly email blast, website creation, social media presence, weekly sermons (delivered live and recorded). Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams; MailChimp (email marketing software); Weebly and WordPress (website creation and editing); Zoom, WebEx and BlueJeans (communication platforms); Piktochart and Canva (design and social media software).
  • Created and presented trainings for youth and adult learners, as well as other preachers and church communicators, including online and in-person workshops and small group facilitation. 
  • Comfortable speaking with large and small groups, networking and public speaking. Recipient of Mersick Prize for preaching; experience presenting to groups between 5 and 500.  
Synergetic Program Development       
  • Co-facilitated a Micah Group, a program of Fuller Seminary and the Ogilvie Institute, leading group of diverse, ecumenical clergy leaders to strengthen commitment to action on social justice.   
  • With a national leadership team, planned conference for Gen X and Millenial clergy for May of 2020, re-imagined as a result of COVID-19 as an online community and series of conversations around race and equity. 
  • Worked to design and implement a network of “cafes” throughout suburban Cook County, creating a network of partner sites hosting safe gathering spaces and educational programming for older LGBT+ adults.

Organizing for System Change
  • Researched, publicized and sought resolution to the wage disparities between male and female clergy in The Episcopal Church, proposing legislation on clergy formation and crafting a memorial to move national church to new awareness; helped write and move church legislation. 
  • As chair of Nominations Committee, Diocese of Chicago, successfully filled diocesan nominations slate in advance of deadline with diverse lay and clergy candidates. As chair of Clergy Compensation Committee, studied wage disparities between male and female clergy, and created transparent reporting structures. 
  • Completed over seven hours of online training on LGBT+ cultural competency through SAGECare webinars, organizing four hour in-person training (to be delivered online) for Area Agency on Aging for May 2020.
